You also have a duty to inform the SSSC of :

  • any change in circumstances for example if you move house or change your name or any changes to the information we hold about you
  • anything that could call into question your suitability to be on the register, for example a criminal conviction or a disciplinary matter.

Your employer has a duty under the Code of Practice for Employers of social service workers to inform the SSSC of anything that could call into question a social service worker's suitability to be on the register.  The SSSC can investigate allegations of misconduct by registered social service workers.  You can contact the Conduct Team on 0845 60 30 891.
